Flower Crown workshop

Can it really be nearly three weeks since I went over to Anna’s Country Flowers to teach a flower crown workshop using the beautiful flowers that she grows on her farm?  I still have my flower crown: it has dried and makes a lovely keepsake from my day at the farm.

Rather than soaking up the sun on the flower patch we ended up with soggy trousers and cold fingers as we dodged the drizzle – however, despite the rain everyone came back with an inspiring selection of flowers in their buckets.  Fortunately we were able to warm up in Anna’s Oasthouse kitchen where we were treated to an array of homemade cakes and biscuits and lots of hot tea.

Lisa came to the workshop with her daughter she told me that she’d “splashed out as a special treat” so that they could enjoy some special mummy and daughter time together.

Farah from Georgie Baldwin Designs came with a friend and tweeted this lovely message afterwards: “it’s all about flowers, love and friendship, nothing else matters!”

If you’d like to look around the flower farm and forage the hedgerows for unusual items to include in an autumnal vase arrangement, then how about booking onto the next full day workshop on Friday 2 October?

What?

Discover the delights of autumn in the Kent countryside and learn how to arrange a vase of foraged findings.

Flower arranging workshops at Anna’s Country Flowers are proving to be a hit with flower lovers in Kent. Anna and I are teaming up again to bring you an autumn flower arranging workshop.

Meet the Flower Farmer, tour the flower patch, walk the fields and forage – a delicious farmhouse lunch will be provided, followed by a flower arranging workshop.

When?

Friday 2 October from 9.30am-2.30pm

Please arrive for a welcome cuppa at 9.30am.  Our farm walk will start at 10am.

Where?

Anna’s Country Flowers, Chilham, Kent, CT4 8JG

What do you need to bring?

Come prepared for the weather – the fields may be muddy!  There’s no heating in Anna’s stable workshop, so a woolly jumper will be a good idea as well.

Bring your own vase.  A ceramic/pottery vase or jug/bowl will be perfect for creating your own amazing autumn display.

Everything else you need will be provided – you’ll be gathering your own plant materials from around the farm on the day.

How do I book?

This full day workshop is only £75.  Drop Anna a line on anna@annascountryflowers.co.uk or ring 07773 265863

Early Bird Discount

Book two workshop places before 11 September to secure your early bird discount of £130 per couple – that’s a saving of £10 per person!

Would you like a win a flower arranging workshop?

Have you signed up to my newsletter?  As a thank you I’ll enter you into a competition to win a flower arranging workshop (worth £350) – if you’d like to be in with a chance you’ll need to add your name to my list by midnight Sunday 13 December 2015 (signing up is a two-step process, so don’t forget to complete the subscription process by clicking on the confirmation email you’ll receive). The winner will be picked at random and notified by email by Sunday 20 December 2015.

Dates for your diary

I’ll be at Belmont House on Wednesday 9 September – come and join me for a tour of the gardens with the Head Gardener, stay for lunch and enjoying a flower arranging workshop with flowers you’ve picked from the grounds.  To book you’ll need to give the Belmont House events team a ring on 01795 890229.

And on Friday 2 October I’ll be at Anna’s Country Flowers for a fields and forage workshop.

Until next time, happy flowers!
